AquaDefend is a 200-micron Underlay designed to provide a superior moisture barrier. Featuring a IXPE Film construction, with a closed cell foam structure, this underlayment also includes a 200UM polyethylene plastic sheet for added protection.
Put simply, this means that this underlay is the ideal solution for helping keep things as dry and protected as possible. This is because AquaDefend is a high-quality, high-density underlay which prevents moisture from rising through the subfloor and causing damage to your floorboards. This is facilitated by an integrated membrane which stops the transference of moisture and moisture vapour when your AquaDefend underlay is correctly installed.
It is also a proactive approach to managing mould and mildew as it works to prevent their growth and assists in keeping both your subfloor and your chosen flooring dry.
AquaDefend is suitable for use with both Laminate and Engineered Timber Floating Floors and is installed with an in-built self-adhesive strip. This joining overlap and strip prevent the transference of any moisture through the joins.
In addition to providing a superior moisture barrier, AquaDefend can also offer thermal and acoustic benefits for your home. This underlayment complies with BCA multi-story requirements and has an outstanding L’nTw value of 47.
