Acoustalay is a highly versatile, acoustic underlayment suitable for use with Engineered Timber, Laminate and Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring. Designed to insulate impact sound and reduce noise pollution within your home, this flooring accessory is crafted from 100% recycled rubber making it great for both your home and the environment.
Coming in at 3mm thick and available in 20m long rolls, Acoustalay has a density of 2190kg/m3 and provides a solid foundation to lay your new floating floors on. Rolls are 1m wide for ease of installation, and a hard set method is used to ensure that this underlay system can do its job as efficiently as possible.
Acoustalay is special in that it can be installed under direct stick Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring – a traditionally hard task. Thanks to the hard set nature of this acoustic underlayment, however, that is not a problem for Acoustalay. Simply lay your Acoustalay and then install your Vinyl floor as per the installation instructions. The great thing about this is that Vinyl flooring is also inherently a quieter flooring option for homes, meaning you’ll benefit even more from noise reduction in your space.

Floors that feature a waterproof surface are a great choice for those worried about spills or other accidents in their home. Our Luxury Vinyl Plank floorboards and Hybrid floors feature an inherently waterproof surface thanks to their water-resistant construction, while our Laminate floors enjoy a waterproof surface thanks to their aluminium oxide wear layer.
In some cases – like with our Luxury Vinyl Plank floors and Hybrid flooring – a waterproof surface also means that floorboards are suitable for installation in wet areas such as bathrooms (excluding shower bases) and laundries. This allows for the creation of a seamless design throughout your entire home – a great perk for those who want consistency in their style.
Hard floors are assigned a Class Rating based on their suitability for different situations.
When you see Class Rating 23 assigned to a floor, this means that it is suitable for installation in even the highest traffic areas of your home.
Class Rating 23 is the highest residential rating achievable and is applicable to most Imagine Floors by Airstep flooring collections.
